Mobile Marketing – mMarketing is a quite new marketing branch and although it has been developing simultaneously with development of mobile telephony just past few year let achieve results satisfying the companies using this form of marketing.

mMarketing enables reaching consumers practically in any moment. Penetration of the market by mobile phones long time ago exceeded 100% (nominal, i.e. including active SIM cards at the end of April, 2008, exceeded 90%). That means that now everyone has a mobile phone! It leads to much larger and much more effective range than in the case of traditional media. Activities related to mMarketing are based on impulsivity, do not require filling any coupons, going to the post or collecting packages of particular products. SMS can be always sent and received - most of the users do not turn off their phones. While leaving home we can forget about wallet or car keys but phone - never. Although part of the users complains that it is like "leash", it is true that generally we cannot imagine life without cell phones.

From the second hand – constant development of technology causes introduction of phones with more and more functions, currently the phones are “everythinghaving”. It also enables development of mobile marketing. Although most of the promotions/contests or other marketing operations is based on common SMS as the most popular and with largest range, more and more often other, advanced elements are used (like MMS, dedicated WAP portals - mobile Internet, or Bluetooth devices enabling free-of-charge data transmission, perfect for different types of events).

Present-day consumer is also more demanding but more educated. Sending a MMS or downloading and using Java application is no longer a problem.

Common text messages are going to be a main communication core of mobile marketing for a long time, as long as one uses standard coupons which are used even now if the action is targeted to obtain personal data, they are the simplest and the most popular despite some limitations. These limitations cause that services providers/aggregates designing new promotional actions and the organizers themselves are constantly looking for the new forms that can be offered to their receivers.
