Process description:
- A user who registers in Fun Skan service gives permission to localisation of his/her SIM card.
- On the process of registration each user must determine a nick, sex and age.
- Users are anonymous in Fun Skan service – only their nicks are known.
- Users may scan their environment in search of potential speakers; therefore, they send SKAN commands via an SMS (scanning connected with starting a conversation) or LISTA (LIST) (scanning a list of four participants).
- Scanning is based on localisation (proximity of speakers).
- On scanning, both users may make an SMS conversation – they receive a special talk channel (a dedicated number). They may also arrange an anonymous voice chat (IVR). An alternative channel of text communication is WAP messenger application.
The users may also take advantage of other interesting functions:
- checking profile of the speaker – INFO command
- evaluation of speakers – OCENA (EVALUATION) command
- changing localisation by jumping to another town – SKOK (JUMP) command
- blocking uninvited speakers – BLOKUJ (BLOCK) command
- sending graphic emoticons - E:), E:P? commands
- suspending their participation in the service for a specified time – STOP command
- low cost of an SMS – 0.06 with VAT within the service
- the service has its own Internet site www.funskan.pl, which serves the whole community, e.g. enables receiving the latest news, searching through Fun Skan users base and sharing observations with other users in the Forum
- the Fun Skan service became a platform on the basis of which other related services are realised, e.g. periodical contests under the theme of Zaproś Znajomych (Invite Friends) or a voice card.
